Nicole Brook came to our school during Literacy Week to do a book reading for our students. She was extremely enthusiastic and genuinely interested in the children and the many questions the students had for her regarding her books, her life as an author, and various other topics. The students were very excited to read her books. I asked Ms. Brook if she would be willing to do a book signing during our Scholastic Book Fair and she agreed. Everyone was very excited and the turnout was great. Ms. Brook’s novels have been a big hit with our students and we are anxiously awaiting the release of her third novel.

To Whom It May Concern:
After Nicole’s visitand book talk, the students were so excited to dive in! They can easily relate to the character as a regular girl of their age. We really appreciated Nicole coming in to give her presentation. The students loved everything from the relatable main character, to the drawings done in pencil crayon, to Nicole’s early dreams of becoming an author. The first chapter had just the right amount of normalcy and then cliff-hanging suspense. They want more! Nicole was wonderful to sign bookmarks for them all. They loved hearing about where Nicole’s inspiration came from, and that she started writing when she was their age. They really connected with the idea of working for your dreams. Many of them have mentioned they want the next book right away, to see whereshe goes next.

“The Amazing Adventures of Abigail Andrews is a fun book filled with action and adventure that shows kids the power that their imagination can have.My grade 2 class is constantly trying to read this book, many will even read the books a few times. The kids have told me that they love the different things that Abigail does in the books, and makes them try to come up with their own adventures while they are playing at home.I have started doing the novel study with my class near the end of the year. The novel study is engaging and because this book is so relatable to the children, the novel study becomes more fun. Many of my students have expressed that they can’t wait for another Abigail Andrews book to come out, because they have read the other books so many times and are excited about a new adventure!“
